Avant Tecno KTM rider has satisfactory end to 2013 preseason at Circuito de Jerez.
Niklas Ajo concluded a final testing session of the preseason today, ahead of the April 7th season opener in Qatar. Today, the Avant Tecno KTM rider continued his excellent work from yesterday, finetuning his Moto3 machine. Niklas was ninth fastest overall in the four-day test, with a time of 1’47.787.
The Finn waited until 10:30am to go out on track for the first time. With only two hours of testing today, every minute counted, and he dedicated his focus today on suspensions. In the final session, the Avant Tecno KTM rider faced an uncomfortable 18km/h wind that did not prevent him from claiming his best time of the test: 1’48.981.
After these four days, Niklas will be off his KTM until April 4th, when the first practice sessions for the first race of the year begin at Losail.
”Today we didn’t have as good a day as yesterday, as there was a strong wind and we didn’t ride much. In the morning we tried out a few things with the suspension and in the afternoon we focused on finding a feeling on the bike and adjusting the setup. Our times weren’t all good, but I didn’t want to go all-out because of the wind. This preseason has been positive and I can’t wait to start, because I was only able to ride at two tracks and we have a lot of work ahead at the rest.”
