The Moto3 Italian GP will take place tomorrow at 11am local time, with Niklas Ajo starting from 23rd on the grid and the eighth row. The Avant Tecno KTM rider continued with his hard work today at one of the trickiest circuits on the calendar, improving his best lap time from the weekend to 2:00:161.
In the final free practice session of the weekend and a track temperature 9ºC lower than yesterday, Niklas Ajo was just 0.02s off bettering his time from Friday. His fastest lap was a 2:01:528, and his last stint was useful for him to maintain a steady pace in the 2:01s range.
The Avant Tecno KTM rider did manage an improvement in qualifying, in which he lowered his lap times and feeling on the bike over the course of 15 laps. His final time around gave him a 2:00.161 time to place him 23rd on the grid.
Niklas Ajo will have last year’s race in mind: He began that GP in 28th and finished 11th.

”I find this circuit very difficult. We’ve tried to make some changes to the bike, but we haven’t found the solution that will improve my feeling. In qualifying we continued working on the bike and things went better, but I’m still not too happy with the end result. We will try to do the best we can to get some point. We will need a good start tomorrow in order to make up as many positions as we can, but we still lack confidence with the front suspension.”
