Misano scores to settle for Niklas

Avant Tecno KTM rider aims to get back amongst top ten at track which so far has been difficult for the Finn.

The 4.2km Misano Marco Simoncelli circuit provides a new challenge for Niklas Ajo this weekend, as round twelve of the Moto3 World Championship season takes place. The Avant Tecno KTM rider has his eye on placing in the points, as he did at Silverstone, but Misano has not been kind to him in the past.

In Ajo’s first season in the World Championship he was unable to contest the San Marino and Riviera di Rimini GP due to injury, and last year adverse weather conditions made for a tricky race that he did not complete. After returning to form at Silverstone, the Finn hopes for another top ten finish this weekend. He currently lies fourteenth in the overall standings with 38 points.

The Moto3 race returns to its traditional timeslot for European rounds of 11am on Sunday, and the first practice session for round twelve of the season will begin at 9am on Friday.

Niklas Ajo,
”This week I’ve stayed at home and trained hard. I’ve been to the gym, done a bit of running and also some motocross. Misano is a tough track and I don’t have much experience there, because in 2011 I couldn’t ride due to an injury and last year the weekend was too wet to really get a feel for the circuit. I think that it is a good track and I hope that I gain some good memories here from this weekend onwards. My favourite part is the series of fast corners off the back straight. My aim this weekend is to be in the top ten consistently, and for the race I want to take some points.”
