Avant Tecno KTM rider concludes two-day visit to Jerez in preparation for 2014 campaign.
Niklas Ajo spent two days testing his KTM Moto3 machine this week, in preparation for the 2014 season. Concluding today, the Avant Tecno KTM rider undertook an intense schedule of riding at Jerez, setting quick times despite his main objective being to try out new parts.
The young Finn focused on trying out various parts and setups for his KTM bike –the same machine used in the 2013 campaign. Although he did not centre his attention on the stopwatch, on Day 1 Ajo undertook 70 laps (more than 300km) and set a best time of 1:47:860. That was the third best lap of the day. Today, the Avant Tecno KTM man put in a further 58 laps, clocking the fourth fastest time of 1:47.876.
Niklas Ajo thus concludes the initial steps of the 2014 preseason satisfied.

”For me, these were two good days of testing as we rode with this year’s bikes. It is easier like that for trying out new parts and setups, which was the only aim for us at this test to finish off the year. I really feel that we have drawn some important conclusions for next year. The lap times weren’t the fastest, but the feeling is very good. We have to be happy with how these two days have gone, because we haven’t crashed, have put in many laps and done a great job with various aspects of the bike.”
