First day of practice in Japan cancelled

Niklas Ajo prevented from riding at Twin Ring Motegi on Friday, as practice sessions are called off due to mist.

The Avant Tecno KTM rider spent Friday in the pits at the Japanese GP, like the rest of his fellow riders. Early mist at Motegi failed to lift, creating visibility problems and impeding the medical helicopter from taking off in the event of incident. Due to these conditions, the organisers were forced to cancel both sets of free practice sessions scheduled for today.

If conditions do not improve tomorrow and the medical helicopter is unable to access the circuit, then neither free practice nor qualfying will take place. In such circumstances, Race Direction have announced that a free practice session, qualifying and the race will all be held on Sunday.
